Author, Elizabeth Brown Rufus

PUBLISHED AUTHOR, THERAPIST and UNIVERSITY INSTRUCTOR:

Elizabeth Rufus, B.A., M.S., Suma Cum Laude, is a spiritually focused Therapist and Psychology Instructor in a field that integrates principles of Psychology and Spirituality. She graduated from her Master of Science Degree in Counseling Program, with Highest Honors (Suma Cum Laude).  Her academic achievements earned her an election to the 2004 edition of WHO’S WHO AMONG STUDENTS IN AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES.

Elizabeth is the published author of the following books: “SUGAR ADDICTION: A Step-By-Step Guide to Overcoming Sugar Addiction,” Sugar Addiction: A Step-By-Step Guide and Holistic Approach to Overcoming Sugar Addiction, 2nd Edition, co-author of Love doesn't...Volume I, Volume II & the Love doesn't Journal.  Elizabeth and her mother, Helena Banks, are proud of the Love doesn't series, which they refer to as their best work.  Elizabeth is in the process of publishing a children's book called "Always Choose Kindness."

Though Elizabeth is a native of Chicago, Illinois, she relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada after having resided in Naples, Italy for 6 years.  Elizabeth has taught Psychology and Interpersonal Skills in Human Relationships at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Humanities, Sociology, Multicultural Counseling, General Studies and Religion at the University of Phoenix.

Elizabeth has informed individuals that proper diet is a prerequisite for inner peace (since what we put in our bodies is directly related to our moods and many of our moods are related to our actions). She moderates support groups on Sugar Addiction, Premenstrual Syndrome and Inner Peace. 

Elizabeth completed a Marital and Family Therapy (MFT) Practicum, Marital and Family Therapy (MFT) Clinical Training’s I and II and a Pastoral Counseling Internship at U.S. Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy.  In addition, she completed a School Counselor Internship at an American High School in, Italy.

Elizabeth has 27 years of experience working in hospital psychiatric settings and private practice as a Mental Health Therapist, Support Group Leader, Workshop/Seminar Director and Spiritual Counselor.  Though her main interest is teaching she is experienced in individual, couples, family therapy and group therapy and has worked with adults, adolescents and children on high-functioning, low-functioning, and dual diagnosis (addictions) units. She also has experience working in eating disorder programs and spiritual counseling programs. Elizabeth has worked with both mild forms of shattered spirits and some of the most chronic forms of shattered spirits (referred to by many as mental illnesses). Though she has chosen to teach in areas related to learning to master emotions and the role of diet and hormones on mental health and spirituality she has provided counseling to individuals with a wide range of emotional problems. Her 27 years of experience with regards to knowledge of the mental/behavioral health industry and Nevada Medicaid has made her a widely sought out behavioral health consultant, who has guided many entrepreneurs as they worked towards opening their own behavioral health agencies.  Her online and conference call trainings involve teaching staff how to create progress notes, case management care plans, treatment plans, parenting classes, anger/stress management, maintaining ethical behavior during treatment, etc.

Elizabeth has encouraged individuals to take the best care of our mother earth. She has taught individuals about the toxins and radiation in our environment and techniques that protect against such harmful radiation and toxins.

Elizabeth frequently served as a Red Cross Volunteer at United States Naval Hospital’s Pastoral Care Office as a Spiritual Counselor in, Italy, where she provided counseling for physically and terminally ill patients and their families.

Elizabeth is Bilingual Italian, and she even speaks moderate French. She loves spending her time working on novels, traveling Europe with her husband and spending quality time with her family members in the United States.  Elizabeth has frequently visited fascinating places like Paris France, London, Rota Spain, Germany, Brussels, Belgium and Rome, Sicily, Naples, Florence and Venice, Italy, but she strongly desires to travel to Tibet, India and Peru. Her favorite place on earth is Universal Studios, Florida, because she adores Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione. She also holds a special place in her heart for Disney World!! She loves yoga, meditating, classical music, tap dancing and ballets.  More important, she enjoys supporting organizations that work to heal the problems of humanity and feels honored to help teach individuals how to heal themselves.

We understand how difficult it can be to overcome a sugar addiction. Our founder, Elizabeth Rufus, had her own struggles with sugar abuse, which led her to create a program to overcome it. Our program is rooted in her personal journey and provides support for individuals struggling with sugar addiction.
We offer a variety of services to help individuals overcome their addiction, including a sugar addiction support group, Zoom events, conference call events, and online support. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to share their experiences and receive the help they need to overcome their addiction.
In addition to our support services, we also offer books related to overcoming sugar addiction. Our books provide valuable insights and strategies for overcoming addiction and living a healthier lifestyle.
